BENTLEY, SENIOR TASTE TESTER
Bentley, a 7-year-old rescued dog of mixed heritage, leads a hard life. Up at 5:15am every morning, MondayFriday, for a quick potty trip to the back yard then back to bed to snooze until 7:00am. Then its time for breakfast and a walk to the park with his older sister, Kelly.
Once home from the park, Bentley gets down to business as the Senior Taste Tester at Bentleys BARKery. And its taste, taste, taste!
Ah, what a life
.
Several years ago, Bentley was diagnosed with heartworms and treated with arsenic (the method used at that time) to kill these deadly critters. Bentleys treatment was a success! Unfortunately, the procedure compromised his digestive system and Bentley was immediately placed on Prescription Diet dog food. Not only did his old dog food not sit right in his stomach, but all those commercial dog treats he used to enjoy made him sick.
So, Bentleys Mom started baking treats for him right in her own kitchen. No white flour or corn meal in these treats! Unsweetened applesauce with no preservatives was found and became Bentleys first flavor. Unsulfured apricots were discovered at the local food co-op to make Bentleys fabulous Apricot Poodles. Bentleys sister Kelly convinced him to use fresh collard greens to make her favorite treat, Southern Dawgs.
Then Bentley began requesting cheese and peanut butter and banana peanut flavors for his treats.
And thats where it all began. Bentley still has to watch what he eats, but he can enjoy his favorite pastime nowtreat testing. Ah, what a life
.
